下記はカランメソッドの教科書からの抜粋です。

Speed is essential

English is generally spoken at a rate of 150 to 180 words a minute. With other teaching methods, the teacher speaks much more slowly than this(usually at a rate of about 100 to 120 words a minute), whilst with the Callan Method he speaks much faster - anywhere between 200 to 240 words a minute. This extra speed makes it easier for the student to understand English outside the classroom, and, of course, makes him concentrate more. It also helps reduce boredom, but, more importantly, speeds up his learning.
